Mission: Reach Your Potential
PRACTICE train play
At The Edge Arena we have one goal in mind—to provide our athletes who enjoy participating in extracurricular activity a home to do so. When it comes to the field of play, we take pride in having the resources for you to grow and thrive to reach your potential.
Regardless of experience, we have opportunities for both young and old to get out and make the most of the energy they have to burn. Opening doors to avenues for success is our means for satisfaction and we work tirelessly to open them for all of our respected athletes.
MEET THE TEAM
Robert grew up on Kent Island and has witnessed the incredible growth of the area over the years. As a youngster he spent his time playing on the local ball fields. His experience through the youth leagues led him to a passion for sports. As a high school athlete he matured into a leader, often titled as the team captain. Furthering his sports career beyond his high school accolades took him to pursue a degree at Salisbury University where he earned his Bachelors of Science with honors in Exercise Science and Business. During college and beyond, Robert has always made time for coaching at his high school alma mater. His experience as a high school coach has brought about great learning and joy. Over his collective 30+ seasons of coaching his most memorable experiences are winning the State Championship in lacrosse in both 2014 and 2015. With great pride for the community he calls home, Robert uses his spare time to participate in many charity events through his non-profit foundation. He can be found holding a seat at several local group board meetings where he values his time spent bettering the community around him. From Coach Woolley’s perspective and coaching experience, The Edge was born in 2013; a place where people can work to better themselves both on and off the field of play! Robert’s passion for developing student athletes has led him to the successful advancement of hundreds of pupils to pursue their respective dreams of playing sports at the collegiate level and beyond. His efforts in this area are a driving force behind his involvement in youth sports. To fuel this passion he founded USS lacrosse as a means to improve opportunity for children of the area. His motto he loves most is “Win the Day.” He measures his wins in the way of smiles provided to others and takes utmost pride in creating the necessary resources for others to grow and succeed. His doors are open to provide opportunity for the people of the community that he lives in and serves.
Facilities Manager / Coach
Doug graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1992, but has always kept his roots on the Eastern Shore. Doug has enjoyed the game of lacrosse for over 40 years! He started playing in high school, continued through his college years into the Men’s Adult league, and became a coach for his daughters as soon as they were old enough to hold a stick. He has always enjoyed an active lifestyle whether that be in his career as a contractor, coaching and playing lacrosse, or spending time fishing on the bay. If on the slim chance you see him working out in the gym, and not upgrading the facilities, make sure to stop and say “hi,” he will gladly talk your ear off.
